If you intend to use this spell, personalize it for yourself.
Step One: Cast and Purify your circle space.
Step Two: Place a dark red candle at the top left hand corner of your alter, a blue candle in the top right hand corner, and a white candle just below the center of your alter. When finished preparing, light these.
Step Three: Set up gems that can represent the elements in the shape of a pentagram (for example, [going clockwise] a white stone at the top point for spirit, a yellow stone at the next point on the star for air, a red for fire, blue for water, and green for earth.)
Step Four: Place a bowl of earth in the center of your alter.
Step Five: With a small dish of water (preferable salt), dip your fingers in the water and trace the sigils for purify, protection, strenght, and consecrate anywhere within your circle. Trace the rune Ansuz twice, one on each side of your alter.
Step Six: Center yourself. If you like to meditate before spells, now is a good time to do so. When you feel like the time is right, say the following (or adjust as needed):
I am here in this sacred cicle to consecrate and bless my opal necklace. I wish to invoke my own energy and the element water's energy into this mysterious October birthstone. Through my will, it shall be done.
Step Seven: Take the opal and start to bury it. Say the following (or adjust as needed):
All negative charges depart from this stone. I banish you from returning. Leave this gem and be released into the earth to be purified.
Step Eight: Take your salt water and say the following (or adjust as needed):
Spirit of Water, Guardian of the Western Quarter, we share a connection for you are my element. I ask you to send a charge of the strength and power of water into my opal and purify it with your powers of cleansing. Blessed Be!
Step Nine: Bind your spell and close your cicle. To bind your spell say the following:
